Basic planning gain development of a double plot. Existing house (on the right) was extended to form two flats, thereby negating the increased parking requirement objection.
The typical objections to developments such as this are generally related to parking and highways access. One aspect of parking is that it is generally assumed that flats have less requirement than houses. So the on-street provision for the original house was able to be shared by the two flats.
The alternative would have been to create some kind of off-street parking but due to the position on a busy road and the elevation above the street level, this was unfeasible.
