A good example of balancing a house: The original modest four bedroom house had been extended on the ground floor, nearly quadrupling in size to add a large kitchen, office, gym, a three car garage, a four car garage and a double-height swimming pool.
By contrast, the upstairs had only had a largish bedroom added, leaving the upstairs space more in line with a £200k house rather than a £2M house.
The extension inserted a new floor over the swimming pool, creating a massive master bedroom with ensuite, dressing room, huge store room and a balcony looking over the south Bristol valley.
The rest of the upstairs was rearranged to create three generous double bedrooms, one ensuite and one large bathroom with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower.
